Blue Shoes

Blue shoes (Wiki) are generally one of the more uncommon colors for women’s footwear. Its strange that standard blue shoes are less popular than its sister color, navy. But I guess most people don’t really know how to use blue shoes to great effect. And most still don’t by the way. For that reason, this color will always remain a niche color much like green is.

If there is one particular type of shoe where regular blue is prominently featured, it is ladies trainers (Known as sneakers in North America). It sort of lends itself quite well for athletic footwear for some reason but doesn’t do too well when it comes to something feminine.

Please note that when I say regular blue, I’m talking about all non-dark shades of blue. Dark blue shoes (or navy blue) are well known as the most popular form of blue on footwear. But it comes to solid blue, nothing really comes to mind. The more popular lighter shades when it comes to blue shoes include teal and those with a tinge of purple. If take a look at the selection of blue shoes above, you’ll be hard pressed to spot a true blue pair of shoes for sale.

Pale blues are quite an easy to match color for a light shade. It does well on anything from heels to ballerina flats. However, it matches very specific colors. While it looks alright with a myriad of colors, you generally want to stick with darker hues to offer contrast. On shoes like boat shoes or loafers, you’ll notice that most do not come in all blue. Instead, it is used to highlight the footwear along with a mix of other colors. When applied to boots, standard blue is rather drab while navy colors are very easy to use.

If you want to try lighter colors of blue like pale ocean blue heels, just remember that such colors do very well when used during the summer. For contrast, wearing very dark or black clothes will certainly give it its time in the sun. However, they also do well with floral patterns. For something bright and crisp, pairing with white is recommended. Blue is certainly a bit unusual, niche and is mostly ignored by many women especially if they are not looking at a pair of navy blue shoes. But if you want a splash of color on your outfit, they are certainly insteresting enough to warrant a go at it.
