Purple Shoes
Purple (Wiki) is one of the most elegant of colors. It is also known as the color of royalty in some countries. If you look at a color chart, you’ll notice that purple is somewhere in between red and blue. Purple shoes take on the role of that which is elegant for specific settings. You will always see purple shoes being marketed for special occasions, particularly weddings.
The number one material to go with when picking up a pair of purple shoes for a special occasion is satin. Satin is quite a lovely material that provides a high gloss finish and looks much like silk. They are the preferred material for all weddings and prom nights. You’ll notice some manufacturers take liberties with this color and often call it a myriad of different things.
Chief among them are violet, orchid, royal purple and lilac. They are merely different shades of purple that are currently offered on the market. Instead, lilac is a much paler shade that is light and goes well with neutral colors that border on white, off-white, ivory and cream.
Regardless of which shade you choose, you definitely do not want to over do the purple “theme” unless the occasion calls for it such as an all-purple wedding. Otherwise, purple shades that are rich are usually the focal point of your attire. For that reason, you may want to stick with uniform dark or light colors to truly show it off. For lighter shades, they tend to be much more unnoticeable which is certainly an attractive quality. This means that it is quite versatile and may go well with many of the clothes in your wardrobe. You want to ensure you wear them with the right clothing as getting it wrong with this color can lead to disaster.
For the safest way to utilize them, you want to stay away from the brightest shades as they may seem a bit too loud and youthful for many occasions. To truly show them off, try matching with neutral tones like white, ivory and beige. Matching with these colors is sometimes a good idea if you don't go overboard. Otherwise, its mostly a bad idea if there is too much purple on the entire outfit. In that sense, it would be better if you limited purple to just your shoes.
